"one of the least evangelised countries in the world"

"it is illegal for Muslims to become Christians"

Read about Yemen in:

Yemen
Yemen lies to the south of Saudi Arabia and the west of Oman.
The country used to be split in two - the north was run by a succession of military regimes and the south was the only Arab Marxist state. After the north and south were brought together in 1990 conflict eventually broke out into civil war in 1994.
Islam is the official religion and the law is based on strict Islamic shari'a law.

Youth Facts
In the US sitcom, Friends, Chandler makes a desperate attempt to get rid of his on/off girfriend Janice by convincing her he has to move to Yemen in search of "alternative fuels".

Challenges for Prayer
80% of the adult population chew the drug qat, which is grown in the rural areas. The knock on effect is enormous - with drug related corruption affecting all levels of society.
It is illegal for Muslims to become Christians - but amazingly around 100 Yemenis have given their lives to Jesus and face extreme danger and isolation from their families. Pray that there would be opportunities and greater freedom for them to meet together and share their faith with families and friends.
Yemen is one of the least evangelised countries in the world. Pray that the gospel can spread and be heard by everyone.
