Paraguay was in Spanish possession until 1811. During the 20th Century it survived through dictatorships, wars with its neighbours and military rule. Since 1993 the country has held free elections and is moving slowly towards democracy.
Most Paraguayans are a mixture of Spanish and native Guarani origin and speak both languages.
Challenges for Prayer
Most Paraguyan Protestants are in immigrant European or Korean communities and live isolated from the majority of the population. Pray that these Christians would develop a vision to reach out to the Spanish/Guaranis.
Pray that newer churches would have a greater understanding of the what the Bible teaches us about wealth, servant leadership and discipleship.
