Antigua and Barbuda
In between the Caribbean and the Atlantic, Antigua and Barbuda have belonged to the Spanish, the French and lastly the British. The islands gained their independence in 1981.
Most of the population are descended from Africans, brought over between the 16th and 19th centuries.

Challenges for Prayer
Drug-dealing, violence, prostitution and kidnapping are growing concerns.
Pray for the many refugees who came here from Montserrat after the volcanic eruption on their island.
