Croatia lies on the Adriatic coastline to the west of Yugoslavia.

Deep divisions between the Serbs and the Croats have been the cause of many Balkan wars in the 1990s. During the break-up of the old Yugoslavia, Croatia fought to defend its own territory and was also involved in the Bosnian war.

Religion and ethnicity are really closely linked for Orthodox Serbs, Muslim Bosnians and Catholic Croats. Pray for spiritual breakthrough, so that people’s ‘religion’ would not be a barrier for them seeking Jesus.

Evangelical Christians have stood out as being some of the only people who have cared for and ministered to all of the ethnic communities during war. Pray that this testimony of love and compassion will have a lasting impact for Croatia.

Pray for the growing number of Christian students in colleges and universities.
